Every document you need for a successful CIDB registration or renewal — from Grade 1 to Grade 9. Tick each item before you submit.

All Grades — Core Documents

G1 – G9

CIPC Registration Certificate (certified copy)CoR14.3 or equivalent — must be certified within 3 months
Director / Owner ID copies (certified)All directors listed on the CIPC register
Tax Compliance Status (TCS) printoutValid TCS pin from SARS eFiling — must not be expired
Letter of Good Standing (COID)From the Compensation Fund — required for all grades
Bank Confirmation Letter (original)On bank letterhead, not older than 3 months, stamped
Completed CIDB Application FormAvailable on cidb.org.za — complete in full, no blanks
Registration / Renewal Fee paidR770 (G1) to R9,800 (G9) — see grade table

Grade 2 & Above — Additional

G2 – G9

Latest Financial StatementsIncome statement + balance sheet, compiled by accountant
Works Experience DeclarationCIDB form listing completed contracts with contract values
Client Reference LettersAt least 1–2 letters from previous clients with contract value

Grade 5 & Above — Audited

G5 – G9

Audited Financial Statements (3 years)Must be signed off by a registered auditor (RA)
Auditor's letter of confirmation
Plant & equipment register (if applicable)Proof of ownership — title deeds, invoices, agreements
NHBRC registration (for housing contractors)

Electrical trade certificate (ECA)Electrical Contractors Association registration
Plumbing certificate of competencyFrom PIRB — Plumbing Industry Registration Board

Common Rejection Reasons

Expired or invalid TCS pin at time of submission
Bank letter older than 3 months or not stamped
COID Letter of Good Standing expired
Application form incomplete (blank fields)
Director ID not certified or outdated certification
Insufficient works experience for the grade applied for
